It would seem that practically everyone else in the world is now blogging so I've decided to join the fun. This is my first blogpost. At this point my intention is to post several times a week and keep all parents and students of Firelight up to date on what is happening at the Academy as well as in the local arts community.
Registration for this year's classes is in full swing. It is a very exciting time for me. I look at the forms and wonder how much children have grown over the summer or what a new student might be like. Students are registering for theatre classes, broadway-style singing, guitar class and private music lessons. I am beginning to wonder how I will have the time to teach all of them! If you haven't registered yet be sure to do that soon as classes and lesson slots are filling up fast.
I'm going to "launch" this rocket now and see where it goes. I'll write more later.

- has taught choral music in public schools for 25 years. She has privately taught theatre arts, guitar, voice, piano, woodwinds and Kindermusik for over 30 years. She has directed church choirs since 1970. She holds a bachelor as well as a master of arts degree in music performance from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. One of the founding members of Abbeville*s Abbey Players, she has performed major roles, both as an actress as well as a singer, since 1972. A director of adult musicals as well as children*s theatre, she is the owner of Firelight Performing Arts Academy. As a playwright, she writes book, lyrics and music for children's plays.
